Astaire Securities records the largest AIM client gain this quarter
Citi and Bank of America Merrill Lynch record sole additions in FTSE 100 client number rankings
J.P. Morgan Cazenove leads FTSE 100 and 250 rankings for 15th consecutive quarter
J.P. Morgan Cazenove leads all three total stock market tables again this quarter with more than twice the number of clients of its nearest rival, Numis Securities. The most impressive client gain this time has been Astaire Securities' four new AIM clients, whilst RBS Hoare Govett has recorded a bad quarter, with ten losses and a single gain in the form of small cap HgCapital Trust, leaving a total of nine fewer clients. Of these deletions, however, four are due to the companies - Allianz Dresdner 2nd Endow Policy Trust (2009), EcoSecurities Group, Irish Life & Permanent and Jessops - delisting, which has been an increasingly prominent reason for client losses since the recession began.
Of November 2009's top five Stockbrokers only three remain in the same position this time. Seymour Pierce has moved from 4th to 3rd place despite a client list decrease of three, whilst Brewin Dolphin Investment Banking has been relegated to 7th position from its previous 5th after losing six clients.
Figures as at 2 February 2010 and information in brackets from 2 November 2009.
