KPMG replaces AIM clients with main market gains

BDO Novus bucks downward trend on junior market

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP tightens grip on FTSE 100 index

Deloitte wins silver for whole market for first time

The top nine auditors all have fewer clients than they did in November, a sharp contrast to our last survey which recorded substantial gains across the top four. KPMG retains the gold medal while Deloitte secures silver for the first time since we began our quarterly rankings.

PricewaterhouseCoopers is now third, although it has the consolation of moving to the top of the two tables based on market cap and profit of clients.

Only Mazars in the top ten has managed to gain a client this time but in the lower half of the table are two successes: BDO Novus has two additions and Chapman Davis has one.

Figures as at 2 February 2010 and information in brackets from 2 November 2009.
